Plain, honest information about what SereneHelp is — and what it isn't.
What this app is
SereneHelp helps you check a message on your phone, and shows the real helpline for the country you chose. Serene is not a person.
It is not therapy and not a diagnosis. It does not replace 999 or 112. Serene advice is not legal advice. You send any letter yourself. We do not open your inbox, and we do not move your money.
A parent may put this on a child's phone. An account is optional. Accounts start at 13; Serene and the Supporter plan are for adults 18 and over. If you may be in danger, call the emergency number for your country.

How to get real help
If you're struggling, please reach out to people who can help:
- NHS mental health services — nhs.uk/mental-health
- Samaritans — call 116 123 or visit samaritans.org
- If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E.
Crisis and helpline information may be translated automatically. If you are in danger or need urgent help, contact your local emergency number straight away. To report a mistake in safety or helpline information, email safety@serenehelp.org.
How your data is handled
Your entries are stored on UK-hosted, encrypted servers. We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. You can export or delete everything you've saved at any time in Settings.
Go to Settings →Age, sign-in, Serene, Speak & keyword hits
Age. A parent may put SereneHelp on a child's phone and use the safety tools without an account. Accounts start at 13. Serene and the Supporter plan are for adults 18 and over. Your age is what you tell us; we do not check it.
Sign in. An account is optional. Accounts start at 13. You sign in with email and a password, or with Google, Apple, Facebook, or Microsoft. SereneHelp does not receive your password.
Serene advice. Serene advice is not legal advice. Some sites are not accurate. You send any letter yourself; SereneHelp does not send it for you.
Speak. The Speak button uses your phone's speech-to-text. Your phone may send the voice to the company that makes the phone. SereneHelp does not keep the recording.
Keyword hit. A keyword hit is decided on the phone and is not sent. If the keywords find nothing and you tap Check, those words are sent for a second look, then dropped here.
Every safety tool in SereneHelp is free for everyone, always. The optional Supporter plan (adults only) adds Serene messages. Payments open after our review. Help us keep it running and fight fraud and unfairness. If you can afford a Supporter plan, you'll help keep SereneHelp free for children, pensioners and people on a low income. Organisations that share our mission are welcome to partner with or sponsor us: partners@serenehelp.org. We never show tracking ads.
